Built by Baldwin in August of 1906 as SP 4-6-2 #2417 (serial #28826 & class P-1), the loco was superheated in October of 1918 at Ogden - leased to the SP de Mexico from 7/1948 to 5/1951. The loco was retired in July of 1951 at Tucson, AZ and sold for scrap in August of 1951. Final specs - 77" drivers, impressive 210 psi boiler pressure, 22x28" cylinders, engine wt of 222,000 lb and tractive force of 31,420 lb. No date or photographer wes listed for the photo. |
