This beefy 0-8-0 yard switcher started out in life as a B&O 2-8-0 Consolidation #2318 built by Alco-Pittsburgh in August of 1903. It was rebuilt to an 0-8-0 #1037 in May of 1925 at the Mt Clare Shops. After a long service record of nearly 49 years, the loco was sold for scrap in Apil of 1952. Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 210 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 210,000 lb and tractive effort of 54,800 lb. This is a C.A. Brown photo. |
